I was a math teacher and taught math in Viet Nam for 10 years before coming to the U.S.A years ago. I have loved math as much as children since I was a young boy. However, I became an electrical engineer after graduated the University of Maryland in this country about 13 years ago and I always apply math to my engineering projects.

...While I have mostly taught all levels of calculus and statistics, I can also teach college algebra and pre-calculus as well as contemporary math. My background is in engineering and business, so I use an applied math approach to teaching. I find knowing why the math is important goes a long way towards helping students retain information.

...Also, at the college where I work, I am the course coordinator so I am familiar with various textbooks and their styles. My expertise leans toward pure math rather than applied. I will be great for a mathematics department's Differential Equations, but may or may not be for a Differential Equations course designed by an Engineering or Applied Science program.

...Often, a students just need that extra guided session to cement a concept. To take student from a C+ to a B, or a B+ to an A. I have had great success in the past in both scenarios.

...I believe education stands for a broader life path and more opportunities. When I was still in elementary school, I had a hard time struggling in my Mandarin class. I was very lucky my parents found out a tutor for me.
