...One of the things that I make sure whenever I tutor someone is that they have a strong foundation in the content area. I feel that as soon as the foundation is built, I can easily assist the student in what he/she is having trouble with. Each lesson would probably have a little bit of exercise to help build the foundation, then focus on the troublesome topic.
