...I emphasize to my students that they should not memorize math, but fully understand the concept. For my students convenience I will solve the problems step by step with them, then I will ask them to solve again with some help, finally they should solve the problems without any assistance. I believe solving more problems would help in understanding and giving students more confidence at math.
