...I understand the feeling that students have when they do not understand math. I was a poor math student in high school and did not develop a passion for it until college. It was in college that I learned that I would be required to take a graduate school prep exam that contained all of high school math up to college calculus.

...So we made a cake and bought candy, then the fun began. We cut out certain parts of the cake and used candy to represent certain parts of the cell such as the mitochondria and the nucleus. I learned over my years of education that it is much better to truly understand the concepts at a basic level then to just cram the material and forget it later.
