...I believe practice makes perfect when studying math. From my personal experience tutoring students I have seen how many memorize what they have learned and try to apply the same technique learned into solving the same problems, which may look similar. However this does not work well in for students in actually learning why the mathematical technique was used, why t was applied, etc.
