When I was in college studying for my Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, I tutored other students who needed help and were struggling. Over the years I worked in many different fields of chemistry; environmental, research, pharmaceutical, health and beauty, and clinical chemistry. I also tutored some of my friends and fellow coworkers' children because they were struggling with chemistry.

I came to America after finishing college and got my Ph.D. in biology. I worked as an adjunct professor for a couple of years but turned down a full time teaching job offer. As my children goes through the local school system, I can see how much a teacher (both public school teachers and private tutors) can influence the life of a student.

...I have also been tutoring for many years from elementary subjects, to chemistry and test preparation and enjoy working with students who need that little extra boost. I use the hands on approach when tutoring, trying many different methods to get the content across. Learning should be relevant and fun.

...Since then I remember playing teacher with my school friends at the time. Of course, I was the teacher and they were the students! I have gratefully been able to attend the University of Rhode Island where I will be graduating with a bachelors in Elementary Education, Theatre, and with a certification in English as a Second Language.
