...It is crucial that a student gets a fundamental understanding in this area, as many of the material one sees in Pre-Calc, they will also see in Calculus. From my experience, most people have problems with the Geometry, Algebra, and Trig portions of Calculus, and not the actual Calculus concepts themselves.
