I have more years as a teacher/tutor than can be included in a simple resume. My first job, at the age of 13, was a math tutor for my school district. I am currently doing environmental chemistry research full time, so I do not often get the chance to share my knowledge and passion for science and math with young students.

I love my work, I love math, and I love teaching. When I was attending college, I was a math tutor and lots of students wanted me tutoring them because I think I had lots of teaching math experiences.

...Undoubtedly, if a student is having a tough time keeping pace in a classroom, the one on one attention a tutoring session can provide is invaluable. It can afford the student an opportunity to ask questions they might be too shy or embarrassed to ask in front of all their peers. Or it can afford them the opportunity to grasp concepts at a pace more in line with their learning abilities.
