...Can we find any exceptions to our pattern? If we can't find any exceptions, then we have pretty good evidence that it is "true," but this isn't proof. For proof, we need to find an explanation, using logic. (This is the deductive part of science.) I make heavy use of the computer program Geometers Sketchpad for carrying out our experiments during tutoring sessions.
