I am 18 years old, the majority of my tutoring experience has been younger members of my family and kids I went to school with. I was always a grade ahead in school so I started high school at the age of 13. I kept my grades up in the A's and B's while taking Pre AP and AP classes while also holding down marching band, concert band and drill team.

...For younger children, the specific problem is usually associated with how to read and write or do math. In the case of reading and writing, my typical approach is to have them read or write a passage with me taking an interactive role. By that I mean, I will focus on a difficult word or phrase and help the child grasp the meaning, or I might tell a story about a word? things like that.

...I approach each student and determine what in particular causes their attention deficiency. I hone in on this and make learning fun and steer away from techniques that are "boring" to them which, as a result, may trigger their ADD/ADHD. I am very patient with students that are hard at hearing and/or need more detailed instruction and help with their classes.

...I have taken general chemistry, organic chemistry, botany, zoology, cell biology, introduction to physics, and math all the way through calculus II. I have done well in all of these courses, and hope I can be what my students need. As far as my tutoring style goes, I am relatively new to all this.

...I love my job and helping students be successful in their education. I believe that everyone learns differently and that you need to change your teaching styles to fit every student's needs. I like to use real life examples to make learning relevant and fun.
