I have a Bachelors of Science degree in chemistry which requires you to pass organic chemistry 1&2. I also was a tutor of Valdosta State for 2 years where I tutored organic chemistry anomy others. I find the hardest part of the course for students are the mechanisms and the study methods for learning when to use each reagent along with there individual rules for reactions.

I have a Ph.D. in chemistry and have been teaching General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry at a University for the last 4 years, in addition to tutoring students in High School Chemistry. I currently teach Organic Chemistry I and II in a university setting. My methods focus on applied problems related to learning IUPAC nomenclature, drawing structures, and reaction mechanisms.

...I have tutored chemistry many times at another tutoring location. I love teaching children to understand that chemistry is not that hard once you understand it is all about cancelling units. Each skill builds on the previous so once you understand the basics you will get it all!! I grew up with a mom as a math teacher and now I homeschool my own children.

...I also have plenty of practice problems to make sure they are comfortable with proving trigonometric identities and solving trigonometric equations. I have helped many students prepare for the SSAT and its sister test, the ISEE. Both standardized tests are used to determine whether a student is academically prepared for private school.
