...I feel I make more of a difference to the students I teach during office hours. For some reason, students don't connect with their teacher as well in a classroom setting as they do one-on-one or in smaller groups. I get to enjoy those lightbulb moments in this way as well.

...I assign homework after lessons to follow up on key ideas or skills necessary for understanding the material (or tackling how to take the test) and I encourage feedback on things that are or aren't working. I am based in San Ramon and I have a study space available for tutoring students. However, it is no problem for me to travel to another location if that is better for the student.

...I like to use games to master some of the lower concepts and visual and tactile methods for the abstract Algebra concepts that are introduced in Prealgebra. Precalculus is a difficult course and different schools cover different subject matter. I have come in contact with a number of these courses both in my own education and while tutoring.
