I have recently applied to graduate school for my PhD. in Mathematics, with my ultimate goal to teach at the collegiate level. My passion for mathematics began at an early age.

...I avoid teaching test-taking tricks. I have over 20 years of professional writing experience in business and scientific settings. I also managed a team of consultants for 15 years which included reviewing and training them on report writing, so while I am new to tutoring, I do have extensive experience in improving the writing skills and styles of others.

...In addition to this, I passed the first actuarial exam, which is on the subject of probability. The skills of discrete mathematics are required generally in each branch of mathematics; I achieved a 4.00 GPA in mathematics from Albright College. As part of my studies, my junior seminar consisted of number theory, and my senior thesis consisted of discrete mathematics and combinatorics.

I taught high school mathematics in New Jersey for over 20 years. I have experience tutoring students from my former high school and I have worked as a tutor for Sylvan Learning Center and other organizations. My favorite math subjects are pre-calculus and statistics.

...I find math and science very interesting and believe this interest to be very important to the learning process. Hopefully i can pass this interest on; learning becomes surprisingly easier once you find an interest in it. Of course there are situations where you just are not interested in the topic; this does not exclude you from doing well in that subject.
