...I help students improve their vocabulary skills through word groups (10 words about "stubborn," about "challenging," etc.), then I add a visual cue on its meaning. I also work with the student to write about what he or she is reading, using appropriate vocabulary. Better reading speed and comprehension will improve high school grades and open more doors for college.
