Tutoring is something that brings me a lot of self fulfillment. Whenever a student tells me they got a good score thanks to our lessons, it makes me very happy. Helping students learn something and see results from that learning is really fantastic.
...Working through a problem yourself (with the guidance of a teacher) is a profoundly more effective technique in remembering a concept than only hearing it explained. I also encourage students to think critically and challenge what I have to say. My main job as a tutor is to teach my students to be independent learners.
...It's all about understanding why something works the way it does, and appreciating how it can be applied. The tedious drills taught by most high school teachers and college professors won't do, and this is something I've learned during my past four years tutoring students ages 14 to 45. It's been fun to watch them grow and learn, no matter what their level of education.
...For a long time, I struggled with Math in grade school. It wasn't until I realized the value of practice problems that I started to get my bearings in secondary math. Once I began to value practice, I excelled at math.

...I love spending time with students and helping them to learn new things. The subjects I have experience in includes writing, reading comprehension, math, (up to Pre-Calculus/Trigonometry), life sciences, and social sciences, and history. Previously, I volunteered as a mentor and tutor at an elementary school, where I assisted students with homework, as well as reading and math skills.
