I am currently an 8th grade math teacher in Broomfield. My path towards becoming a teacher began in high school when I tutored younger students in math. I continued to tutor in college while I earned my B.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering but it wasn't until I taught an undergraduate biology course while working on my PhD that I realized my true calling was teaching.

...Some students I have tutored who struggled in school was because they never learned how to study, not from lack of intelligence. Having gone through my personal experience, and helping others develop their study skills, I feel that I have unique experiences I could teach others. I have taken genetics at the University of Colorado at Boulder as an undergraduate.

...As I began to teach myself at my own pace, I found that the book can only teach from one direction. When I got lost, I had to take a break and go back through the basics. It was terribly tedious at first, but I developed a skill for breaking down a new concept and coming at it from several different directions.

...One of my many passions about music is seeing people express their heart to God as they play instruments. It is a blessing as a teacher/mentor to be a part of that inspiring process. I have developed a practical approach to improvising where anybody can flow with their instruments.
