I have been tutoring math since 2014, both in schools and as a private tutor, working with students that are in middle school, high school and college. I greatly enjoy supporting and connecting with students to help them understand the math. I am currently in graduate school, pursuing a Master's degree in Mathematics with a concentration in Actuarial Science.
...When I teach students to present, I teach 3 tenets to successful speaking: pace/volume/poise, clean and clear visuals, and practice. When students master these ideas, their presentations are succinct, their confidence increases, and they become more comfortable speaking. Public speaking is a huge part of my work as a scientist and science educator and I've been successful coaching others.
...I'm math major, and have been working at Loyola Math Club Tutoring for a year. I love learning math, and I'm more than happy to help you with math on elementary algebra, pre-calculus, calculus, differential equations, etc. I have taken math courses, such as Calc (I, II & III), number theory, linear algebra, abstract algebra at Loyola, and completed them with A- or higher.
...Also, as a parent I understand how important communication is so that all are informed as to the students progress. I not only want to see grades improve but also an increase in confidence. I believe confidence is more than half the battle to becoming a successful math student!
