...I have always told my students that not everybody was meant to be a chemist, but there are some pretty cool lessons that can be learned from chemistry that can be applied to everyday life. As part of teaching, I usually held office hours which essentially amounted to free tutoring. The students who took advantage of these hours did immensely better in their respective classes.
