As a teenager I read extensively about Charles Babbage and Ada Lovelace, Alan Turing, ENIAC and UNIVAC, and first started studying programming on an Atari. I have also taken comp sci classes at the college level covering programming, Bill Gates and Steve Jobs, the rise of the internet, etc.
...If a student is having trouble in a certain area and cannot complete a problem even after searching their notes, then we will work one or two examples together. Then it is their turn. If they are still having trouble, I ask questions to lead them in the right direction.

When I was a student in Spanish class in high school, my teacher was a very nice person but a very poor teacher. I learned very little Spanish until I went to college and received tutoring. Once I began to understand what was going on in class, I began to really enjoy learning the language.
