...I once took Lagrange's challenge to be able to explain the fundamental theorem of calculus to "a man on the street". I asked my barber if she had ever been in the hospital in a semi-private room. She said "yes", so I told her to envision a very crooked curtain for privacy and that she is in a drugged stupor as the nurse pulls the privacy curtain.
