...The exception is when a student has achieved well in high school mathematics, has taken pre-calculus, and does not score well on standardized tests. When this is the case, the student will likely do better on the ACT, probably because the questions are more straight forward. The ACT math section covers trigonometry and elements of pre-calculus while the SAT goes only through algebra 2.
