I tutor because I love science and math, I'm good at solving problems, and I enjoy sharing interesting ideas. I studied computer science in college, with additional coursework in biology, physics, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, and linguistics. After graduation I worked as a technical writer and computer programmer for eight years.
...I especially love teaching students the skills to do well on their own: problem solving, studying, test taking, how to read questions, etc. The coursework for my master's degree was focused on learning: learning differences, curriculum, and development. My master's thesis was on physics misconceptions, and I did research on gender differences in the sciences.
