...I have a great deal of experience tutoring at many different levels. Starting when I was just tutoring for fun in high-school and college and I would tutor my friends in whatever classes we were taking or that I had taken. For the last four years I have privately tutored dozens of students for a total of over four hundred hours, including over a hundred on this site alone.

I love to tutor and am excited to find myself with enough time to take on a small number of students. I graduated from MIT and am currently working on a start-up part time and at MIT as an instructor. I miss the one-on-one academic environment and am keen to share some of my knowledge.

...While most tutoring requests are for individual assignments or test-prep, I'm happy to work with students with more comprehensive needs. I recently tutored a student who needed to learn Algebra 2 in its entirety. We met several times per week over the course of 2-3 weeks, covering the material in cohesive chunks and working through a problem set as appropriate.

...I also try to incorporate teaching the student how to learn on their own. Many times, a student is only familiar with rote learning when given the information. I think one of the most important things you can learn as a student is how to look for information yourself to help learn the way that comes natural to you.
