I know Trigonometry very well and have a lot of experience teaching and tutoring this sometimes difficult subject. There are a ton of formulas and identities that many teachers ask students to memorize, however, I don't. I approach Trigonometry more logically, and limit the formula and identity memorization to an absolute minimum.

We have fun with topics such as factoring, solving and graphing linear equations, word problems, and solving a system of equations, just to name a few. I turn factoring into a fun and efficient game. And, I really enjoy connecting with the student to break down word problems by translating them into workable math problems, and thus decreasing the student's anxiety and fear.

...Basically a lot of students feel as if they are driving a hypothetical ?math car? in the dense fog and feeling completely lost. Working with students one-on-one I can identify major ?holes or cracks? in that foundation and repair them. I am trying to help students to understand the syntax of math sentences, which is different from that of ordinary text.

...I worked with various students that were diagnosed with Autism for four years as a Special Education teacher. In that time, I learned and implemented various strategies to help students with this diagnosis access the general education curriculum. For most students with Autism, I focused on behavior management, social skills, and self-regulation strategies.
