...I am the Founder and Chief Instructor at the Harlem Math Institute, where I runs a Summer Math and Engineering Camp for kids. I am a graduate of MIT and have been teaching and tutoring in a variety of capacities for more than 25 years. I first began tutoring in the 8th grade as a way to help other students while sharing my love of math.

...I currently teach GED math to Deaf adults at LaGuardia Community College. I also teach basic math and English to adults who do not have a high school diploma or GED and must take an entrance exam in order to enter a medical assistant training program. I have tutored basic, elementary math and English for the past 16 years.

...I graduated at the top of my high school class with a 4.5 weighted GPA (straight A's), earning the International Baccalaureate (IB) degree with HLs in mathematics, history, and English. I scored a 5 on all seven of the AP exams I took (Calculus AB + BC, Physics B, U.S. History, Spanish Language, English Language + Literature), and my overall SAT and ACT scores were near-perfect.

...I would love to help you replace frustration with success! The key to success in math classes is a deep understanding of the logic behind our number system instead of rote memorization of how to do specific problems. By working with me, students will learn to understand math which will improve not only their math scores but also their enjoyment of math!

...I like the challenge of finding a new and different way to explain a difficult concept and it is an exciting experience when a new approach finally clicks for a student. Altogether I hope to show that with a little innovative thinking about the subject, math can even be fun! Some of my own standardized test scores include 780 Verbal/720 Math SAT I and 760 SAT II Writing.
