...I have volunteered at a local elementary school for 12 years. I have provided tutoring, been a guest speaker and after-school enrichment classes for kindergarten through fifth grade. I am certified to teach math and science in 7th through 12th grade and have taught for several years.
...I use prealgebra everyday, and I find it to be one of my favorite subjects in math. I have taken every level of calculus offered by universities, and had lots of practice in tutoring this specific subject with high school students. I use the topics in this subject everyday and I know them well.
...I was advanced in math throughout school mostly by learning the simple tricks and having a good grasp on basic math. Geometry is mostly about using these basic math skills in formulas and interpreting angles. If you work on knowing the formulas and remember things about degrees (for example 180 in a triangle, 360 in a rectangle), then understanding geometry is a lot easier.

...I won a teaching award at my previous job and consistently receive very high reviews from students. I work hard to guide students by showing examples and then aiding them in completing their own problems. In my opinion, the best way for a student to master a subject is not to watch someone do it for them, but to do it themselves.
