My job as a tutor is to find out what teaching style or presentation will make my student comprehend the subject at hand better. First, I try to find out what sparks the interest in the student and then try to relate the subject matter that he or she has difficult with to that interesting topic.

...I am only available over the weekend as I am currently a full-time postdoctoral scholar. That said, I may be open to tutoring sessions during weekday evenings if we can meet at the UCSF Medical Center on Parnassus; I prefer to meet there or near the Sunset District during the weekend. I generally require that lessons be scheduled at least 48 hours ahead of time.

I then design specific homework assignments and "brain exercises" to not only improve their grades, and their performance in future classes, but improve their ability to think.
