...Personally, this is probably my favorite subject and a good foundation in Algebra 1 is needed to ensure success. If the student is having a hard time with some areas in the course, I don't mind backtracking a bit to Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1 concepts. Once the student is clear on those earlier concepts, they can get a better handle on the Algebra 2 topic in question.
