...Since then I have been tutoring every time I can. One of the things I love about tutoring is being able to make a difference in my student. They trust me to help them either understand something or they need help to overcome the fear of maths (which is a major thing with some of the student I tutor). The other thing that makes me love tutoring is the challenge.

...You should know that I do not tutor common core math. Also, I require that I have a copy of the math book your child is using in school, so that I can answer his/her questions quickly, and to make sure I teach the subject in a way that does not conflict with how it?s being taught in school. If you cannot get a copy of the math book, I will consider purchasing it myself.

...I had a great time tutoring friends and younger kids in math throughout high school. I even spent my first summer in college working as a math teacher's assistant at a public school in South Central LA. I helped many struggling students achieve great grades in their math class, one thanking me personally for helping him get his first A in math ever.

...The specific value and joy of tutoring is that it is one-on-one. In a classroom, I cannot easily spot a student's struggles. However, in a one-one one situation, a student and I can better work together to identify what it is that impedes learning.
