...I was trained in the use of MATLAB in 2004 and took additional courses that required the use of the language in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013. MATLAB is a great language, but I really suggest students try to get everything working in Octave before paying Mathworks. Most courses that use MATLAB can be easily translated in Octave and it saves the students money.
