I have more years as a teacher/tutor than can be included in a simple resume. My first job, at the age of 13, was a math tutor for my school district. I am currently doing environmental chemistry research full time, so I do not often get the chance to share my knowledge and passion for science and math with young students.

...I have been teaching at the college level since then as well. My doctoral work has focused on the use of technology and group work to enhance learning, particularly in the area of science. Students need to feel comfortable with a tutor, so establishing a rapport with students is my primary objective, because goals beyond that otherwise can't be achieved.

...Each school, each class and each student presents unique joys and challenges to me as an instructor and coach. My most exciting moments as an educator have been to see a student understand a difficult concept; that moment can position a student for a lifetime of love for learning. I have been tutoring since an early age.
